What's happening Argentina - Namibia
October 14 Match
WHAT'S HAPPENING?.... (posted 15th October 2003)
In the only game for October 14, Argentina's Pumas rissoled Namibia 67-14 down in Gosford on New South Wales' central coast.
In an entertaining match for the most part, both teams really got into it. Argentina's team only had one player in it from their clash against
the Wallabies on Friday October 10 - winger Diego Albanese. Coach Marcelo Loffreda decided to trot out the second string - and it proved
to be a good choice with the Pumas snavelling a bonus point before the half time whistle even blew!
Highlights of the first half included a scrum push over try to the Puma's number 8 Bouza, and Argentina were award a penalty try when the
Namibians collapsed another scrum push over attempt. By the half time break the score was 27-7.
After the restart the Pumas were awarded yet another penalty try, followed by a try. Meanwhile the capacity crowd in Gosford was getting right
behind the Namibian team. Finally, in the sixty eighth minute of play Namibia scored a try when their halfback Hakkies Husselam crossed over the
try line. Shortly though, Bouza scored a Puma try through another push over. Miranda finished off the night with his third try for Argentina.
As well as putting on a try scoring bonanza, the Puma's kicker, Gonzalo Quesada was right on the mark throughout the game, kicking seven conversions and
a penalty. Nice kicking!
The Pumas win takes them to the top of Pool A - but they are the only Pool A team to have played two matches to date. The people of Gosford
sounded like they were having a fab time at the footy last night - good on ya guys! :)
